California State Highway 74, the " Ortega Highway ," is a scenic mountain route connecting Lake Elsinore with San Juan Capistrano over the mountains all the way to the coast.
From California Interstate 15
Take 15 North through Temecula, Murrieta, and on to Lake Elsinore.
Take the Central Avenue exit (Follow Highway 74 signs) west.
For the next 6 miles you will work your way around the lake and onto Grand Ave.
At the stop sign-intersection of Grand Ave. and Ortega Highway, turn right. The LOOKOUT is only 4 miles up the mountain on your right.
From California Interstate 5
Exit Highway 74 (Ortega Highway) in San Juan Capistrano, and head East.
Go approximately 23 miles. Once you round the bend at the top, you will see the lake on your left.
Go another 1000 feet, and the LOOKOUT will be on your left.
